We provide room hire in Cardiff, available 7 days a week for community use or private hire; large hall, meeting rooms, music practice rooms, and cafe.

There are lots of events going on at the centre in the near future including private birthday parties, wedding parties, and charity fundraisers.

Main Hall

Large hall for hire

Our spacious main hall is ideal for: Dancing, birthday parties, community events, live music, meetings, conferences and many other activities.

“Bingo Hall” (2nd Large Hall)

The “bingo hall” is largest space within the Community Centre (note: no longer used as an actual bingo hall). The hall was disused for 20 years after closing and has recently been brought back into use by the community. The space is regularly used as a venue for arts, music, cinema, drama, meetings and sports.

The bingo hall consists of two distinct spaces the large hall area with high ceiling, and cozy space with sofas and bar.

The main hall social area is a multi-functional space, used regularly by our youth clubs, casual meetings and for arts and craft. This room joins the main hall, kitchen and bingo hall.

Our kitchen is available to hire alongside activities in the main hall, bingo hall or meeting room. Or can be hired independently. The kitchen is regularly used by the community centre’s youth clubs, play group and community events.

Music Practice Rooms

The community centre has two dedicated music practice rooms available for musicians and bands to hire. Youth bands can practice for just £1 a per person during the Saturday youth club session (2.30 to 4.30).

The practice rooms are run by the Under Construction music project.

Studio 2 (Recording Studio)

Studio 2, an open studio, was created to give musicians of all abilities the opportunity to create professional and affordable recordings. Users of the studio have the option of working with one of the community centre’s trained sound engineers or taking the controls on their own.

 

As we are an open studio, it means that, if you’re a producer/engineer yourself but don’t have the equipment and/or facilities it takes to start recording other bands, you can do it here! For just £2.5 per hour of each session you take!

Please note that to record drums you will also need to book either a practice room or our Main Hall(at a discounted price depending on the time booked) due to the dimensions of the studio.

HOW TO BOOK

Booking Procedure

 

  1. Before applying for a booking please familiarise yourself with our terms of hire
  2. Check availability. You can check availability of the main hall, bingo hall, music practice rooms, and meeting room using our online tool else you can call, email or visit us
  3. Discuss your booking application with us. Either by phone, email or in person.
  4. Complete our online booking form, we’ll calculate the cost of the booking and send an invoice via email
  5. Pay deposit (within one week of receiving invoice) & pay full booking cost (7 days before booking commences). Payments can be made by cash, card (on site and over the phone), and bank transfer.

Booking Policy & Deposits

How is the deposit calculated?

Deposit = (£50.00 + 30% of booking cost rounded to the nearest multiple of £10)

Refund / Cancellation policy

For the Halls, Café and Meeting room:

  • If more than two weeks’ notice is given all monies will be refunded minus £10 admin fee.
  • If less than two weeks’ notice is given, 50% of booking fee will be charged, all other monies refunded.
  • If less than one weeks’ notice is given 100% of booking fee will be charged all other monies refunded.

For practice rooms, Den, Kitchen, Studio 2:

  • In the event of cancellations within 24 hours of the booking the hirer is responsible for the full booking fee.
  • In the event of cancellations within 48 hours of the booking the hirer is responsible for the half the booking fee.
